GCoM Launches South Asia Regional Covenant in New Delhi May 5-6, 2018

The GCoM – South Asia regional covenant was officially launched during the South Asian Cities Summit hosted by GCoM partner UCLG in New Delhi. EU Ambassador to India Tomasz Kozlowski, Vice-Chair Christiana Figueres, Henriette Faergemann (EU Delegation India, First Counsellor – Environment), and Vaxjo Deputy Mayor Åsa Karlsson Björkmarker (GCoM-Europe Political Board) participated in the launch ceremony alongside Mayors from India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. Two new Indian cities, Surat and Gangtok, publicly committed to the GCoM – launching the GCoM-SA’s new recruitment campaign.
