GCoM Launches Consultation Processes on Data, Resource Needs & Knowledge Gaps
(GCoM、「データ、必要なリソース、知識ギャップに関する協議プロセスを開始)
Three important consultation processes are either underway or planned over the summer to seek city and city network input:

Data4Cities: Global Reporting Standard: Working through global and regional networks and partners, GCoM is coordinating a process to gather input from cities and their networks in order to finalize the global framework for GCoM reporting. This global framework for reporting is inclusive of requirements around emission inventories, GHG reduction targets, climate risks/vulnerabilities and actions which will ultimately comprise the “key data” that all cities will report on a regular basis to track their progress as voluntary partners in the implementation of the Paris Climate Agreement. The consultation survey is available here and will remain open for input until June 1st.

Invest4Cities: City Technical Assistance and Investment Needs: In order to inform GCoM’s long-term business planning and fundraising strategy, and again by consulting city network partners and their members, GCoM is conducting a regional needs assessment to assess gaps between available and required resources for local climate action, inform better development and deployment of available resources by GCoM and partners, and strengthen understanding of challenges and opportunities that cities face when moving to a low emission, resilient society. The assessment will be launched on June 4 and will be open for 1 month with a final report completed by early September.

Innovate4Cities: Research & Innovation Agenda: Following announcement on 22 March 2018, we are building a Global City Research & Innovation Agenda through a series of regional, in-person consultations with mayors, city networks, researchers, technology firms and governments, which seeks to enable cities to take accelerated and more ambitious climate action. The goal of the agenda is 1) identify critical scientific, technology and data gaps and 2) mobilize resources – both through national government, academic and business support, to fill them. The first regional consultation took place alongside the GCoM South Asia launch.
